This question always gets asked, do you place greater importance on optical or digital zoom when looking for a digital camera?, is it better to buy a 3.0 zoom optical or a 4.0 zoom digital type, no question about it at all, buy the optical one, done job.
Digital zoom is all about magic digital manipulation of an image, it does not add "quality", it will not add pixels, the smallest particles that make up a digital image, and so if the picture is printed out on larger size photo paper, the image will not look as good as its optical equivalent in zoom magnification. The optical lens magnifies the original image in a purer way, dare I say it, organic way , and more digital pixels are required to store that image, but in a good way. Any prints and blow-ups will look sharper and have more detail, all these being "good things".
The only disadvantage is the slight increase in cost of the digital camera due to the extra complexity of the mechanical lens mechanics as it has to house the precise optic system that emerges from the camera housing. A digital zoom does not need all this traditioanal palava, and suffers because of it. There is no question at all, the optical zoom wins the day, every day.

Microsoft Office 2007 - Which Version and Best place to buy?

Look no further for the best place to buy your microsoft office 2007 edition
First you need to find out which version you need, (click for version)
as there are so many permutations within the five different versions, home and student, ms office standard 2007, office 2007 small business, ms office professional 2007, and micrososft office 2007 ultimate.
Alternatively, if you already have a version of ms office 2007 you can upgrade it to the "next step up", which can be handy if your budget allows at a later date.
A usefull tip is to try Amazon for the best prices as there is so much competition, plus they have lots of buyers reviews, which I personally always try to follow.

Optical Zoom Lens for Digital Cameras
Retractable lens zoom
This is the most common optical zoom lens found on non SLR type digital cameras. These zoom lenses retract into the camera body when the camera is off and extend when it's on.
These are suited to: sophisticated tourists, students on a budget and quality compact camera cognoscenti.
This type of zoom lens allows :
• Very compact, portable camera design
• Protection by built-in cover
These points are the drawbacks :
• Generally doesn't support lens converters or filters
• Zoom range is often limited to 2x or 3x mag.
• Lens extension may increase camera start-up time
• Zoom Lens mechanics may use more power than a fixed lens.

How to buy a cheap digital camera
Why buy a digital Camera in the first place?
Well, the main advantages are convenience and practicality. No film needed, use at any time as long as you have batteries, the ability to view results quickly using the cameras LCD screen, and the option of deleting unsatisfactory images, fast.
The main factor of course for most people is price, and at present you don't really need to buy a digital camera for over £120 to obtain excellent results.
1: A big LCD screen is IMPORTANT, it makes viewing images much more pleasurable, and helps one decide if any substandard images require deleting. 2" and over is GOOD.

2 :The Resolution in Megapixels is very IMPORTANT, simply put, this gives you clearer, sharper pictures when using a higher Pixel rate (in MP), anything over 5MP is VERY GOOD.
3 : Zoom, If you need to take long distance, holiday type landscape shots you need some sort of zoom, either Optical (GOOD) or Digital (BAD), optical zoom is obtained by a purer method, ie the picture is magnified by high quality glass lenses and is projected onto the cameras image "sensor", whereas digital zoom is obtained via electronic trickery.
4 : Batteries, early versions used to eat batteries, nowadays most digital camera owners use rechargeable batteries, a very wise move. Common battery sizes are the AA size, you will notice newer digital cameras use just 2 AA's. Older models used to use 4!
4 :.Memory Cards These are "plugin" memory cards used to store your images, e.g. a 128MB memory card can store around 150 images using 6MP resolution, quite adequate for most uses. Memory cards come in a few different versions (SD- secure digital and XD-extreme digital, are the most commonly used formats, and as such tend to be cheaper.
Tip : Visit Amazons Digital Cameras section, as a cool feature of this site is that most of their electronic goods have reviews written by actual buyers, so you will see the GOOD as well the BAD reviews!
HAPPY HUNTING!
